Moving On

This blog isn't proving very successful so far this year.:) I've been very slow about updating! Seems like we've been incredibly busy lately. The good news is we have found a townhouse at an apartment complex in Zionsville that we really like. We will be moving in just under 3 weeks! I'm not looking forward to the moving process, but I am looking forward to moving on and to being closer to our jobs etc. Now we've got to get packing!

the weekend

Luke surprised me for our anniversary and brought me here:
This is where we stayed in Brown County 3 years ago for part of our honeymoon. The vacation house is out in the middle of nowhere and has a full kitchen, hot tub, pool table, tv/dvd player etc. On the way home we also stopped by the Brown County Winery and the exit 76 Antique Mall (always so much fun). We had a great weekend. It was very relaxing and it was fun to go back!

Here we are 3 years ago:

and here we are this past weekend:

3 years

Today marks three years of marriage for Luke and me. It's hard to believe. It sort of feels like we've always been married, but it also seems like just yesterday.:) It's been the best three years of my life. It's had its ups and downs and its laughter and tears, but we've grown closer together and more in love through the various situations. I feel blessed to have Luke by my side and to be sharing my life with him.

We actually hardly saw each other today. He worked 8-5 and I worked 1-9, so the celebration is put on hold until the weekend. He's planned something which he refuses to give me any clues about.:) I'm looking forward to it!

another day, another dollar

Today an elderly male customer became somewhat indignant with me when he tried to "cash out" his HPB gift cards and I told him he couldn't do that. Seriously?!

It's been a long haul

This is the post I've hoping to write for the past year.:) Luke received a job offer from Charles Schwab today and will begin his new job a week from Monday. We are very excited and grateful to be able to move on with life. Luke's birthday is tomorrow, so this is probably the best birthday gift ever!:) Thanks for all the prayers and support over the past 15 months!

Thursday

I enjoyed today. I only worked a half day, in which I was quite productive (if I do say so myself). After that I kicked it at my studio for a bit. I did some drawing and then worked on a few paintings and ideas. This was followed by an eye appointment, which I have been excited for due to my deteriorating night vision. As I suspected my eyes had worsened and while this is unfortunate, I'm glad to finally have an updated prescription. Plus I got contacts and I've got some purple plastic frames coming my way in a couple weeks here. The day ended with a pleasant evening at Mom and Dad's for dinner and then some amazing desserts (courtesy of Alaina:).
